Bathroom Cleaning Service New York City Renters and Owners Trust

Rated 5 stars by New Yorkers in 3 boroughs

Your bathroom is the smallest room in the apartment and the hardest one to keep nice. Soap film on the glass, pink stuff in the grout, a mystery ring around the base of the toilet. Every Lily Maids visit already includes a full bathroom clean, and you can add extra bathroom detail work when the room needs more than a wipe-down. Insured, background-checked cleaners. Flat price before we knock.

Upper West Side Guest-ready before the flight landed

A real Lily Maids story

David M. had one bathroom and two in-laws landing.

David M. lives on the Upper West Side, in a one-bath prewar apartment with a tub that gets used every single day. He was buried in work, his in-laws were flying in the next morning, and the place, in his words, looked like a disaster zone. The bathroom was the part he was most embarrassed about. Soap scum on the tile, a cloudy mirror, grout that had gone gray somewhere around February.

Our team came in and worked the whole apartment, but the bathroom got the attention it needed: tub and tile scrubbed down, toilet cleaned inside and out, chrome polished, floor disinfected along the edges where the mop usually skips. "They saved me from a major panic, and my in-laws were so impressed with how clean everything was," he told us after.

That is what a bathroom cleaning service in New York City should actually do for you. Not a quick spray and swipe, but real scrubbing in the one room guests always notice. We're a locally owned team of insured, background-checked cleaners covering Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. Book a one-time cleaning, a deep clean, or a recurring plan and the bathroom is handled every time.

Why this room is different

New York bathrooms are tiny and busy.

A 40-square-foot bathroom in a walk-up gets more traffic per square inch than any other room in the apartment. Here is what that actually does to it, and how we handle it.

Housekeeper cleaning bathroom fixtures in a Sutton Place Manhattan apartment
Tile, grout & glass The three things people ask for most

Hard water, old tile, no window

What actually builds up in a city bathroom.

Three things go wrong in almost every apartment we walk into. First, soap scum. It's a film left behind when soap reacts with minerals in the water, and it dries onto glass doors, tile and the tub in a thin gray haze that a paper towel will not touch. Second, hard water spots. Those white rings on on the faucet and shower head are mineral deposits, and they need an acidic cleaner and dwell time, not muscle. Third, mildew in the grout, which is what most people mean when they say the grout "turned gray."

Most New York bathrooms have no window and a fan that has been painted over twice. That means humidity hangs around after every shower, and that is exactly the condition mildew likes. The NYC Health Department points out that controlling moisture is the real fix, and cleaning is a big part of that. We won't tell you a cleaning replaces a plumber or a remediation company for a serious moisture problem, but a regular, honest scrub keeps the everyday stuff from turning into the serious stuff.

Where bathroom cleaning fits

Every service we run includes it.

You don't book a bathroom on its own. You book a cleaning, and the bathroom is in it. When the room needs more, you add bathroom detail work at checkout or book a deep clean. Below is how it plays out for each service we offer.

Apartment cleaning service in a compact Queensbridge Queens home
Studios to classic sixes Built for tight NYC bathrooms

Small rooms, real scrubbing

Apartment Cleaning in New York City.

Most of this city lives in an apartment, and most of those apartments have one bathroom doing all the work. There is no second bath to fall back on while the first one dries. So we plan around it. Our team works the bathroom in a set order, top to bottom, so nothing gets re-dirtied: mirror and fixtures first, then tub and tile, then the vanity and sink, then the toilet, then the floor last on the way out the door.

Small bathrooms also mean every surface is close to every other surface. Toothpaste splatter reaches the mirror. Shower steam reaches the ceiling paint. That's why a fast wipe never looks right in a New York bathroom, its just moving the film around. Our apartment cleaning service teams are trained on prewar tile, tiny pedestal sinks, sliding glass doors and those half-size tubs you find in a lot of walk-ups. We work with doormen, follow building elevator rules, and handle five-floor walk-ups without complaining about it.

Maid service cleaning a bathroom vanity in a Woodside Queens apartment
Same checklist, every visit Bathrooms · kitchens · floors

Trained, insured, background-checked

Maid Service across the boroughs.

A maid service should mean the same result every time, not "whoever showed up that day." Our maid service in New York City runs off a written checklist, and the bathroom section of that list does not change between visits. Tub and shower walls, tile, toilet inside and out, vanity, sink, mirror, chrome, and the floor including the strip behind the toilet that everybody skips at home.

We bring our own supplies and equipment, so you don't need to stock anything. If you have kids, pets, or someone in the house with sensitivities, ask for greener products in your booking notes and the team will use them. If you swear by a specific product for your stone vanity or your glass door, leave it on the counter with a note and we'll use yours instead. Small thing, but it saves a lot of frustration with natural stone and specialty finishes.

Standard cleaning visit underway in a NoHo Manhattan apartment
What's in every visit No add-on required

The baseline

Standard Basic Cleaning, bathroom included.

Here is the part people ask about most, so let's be plain about it. A standard basic cleaning already covers the bathroom. You are not paying extra to get the toilet cleaned. The standard visit sanitizes the toilet inside and out, scrubs the tub and shower and tile, polishes the mirror and fixtures, wipes the vanity and sink, empties the trash, and disinfects the floor.

What a standard visit is not built for is a bathroom that hasn't had a real scrub in six months. Heavy soap scum, mildew set into old grout, hard water crust on a shower head, or years of buildup along the caulk line need dwell time and a lot more elbow work than a standard visit budgets for. That's when you book a deep clean or add bathroom detail. See the full standard cleaning checklist so there is no guessing about what's covered.

Deep cleaning a bathroom in a Cobble Hill Brooklyn home

Homes, not offices

Residential Cleaning, done properly.

We only clean homes. Apartments, brownstone floors, co-ops, condos, rentals. That focus matters more than it sounds, because a home bathroom and a commercial restroom are two different jobs. In a home, the products have to be safe around a toddler's bath toys and a cat's water bowl. The finish matters. Nobody wants a bathroom that smells like a gym locker room for six hours after we leave.

Residential cleaning also means dealing with a real household's stuff. Shampoo bottles, a razor on the tub edge, three kinds of face wash, a hair dryer wedged behind the toilet. We move it, clean under it, and put it back. Then we ventilate the room. The American Cleaning Institute is clear about never mixing bleach with ammonia-based products, and we follow that rule strictly, which is one more reason to let a trained team do the bathroom instead of combining whatever is under your sink.

Deep cleaning tile and grout in a Downtown Brooklyn bathroom
Grout, caulk, glass Where the buildup actually lives

When the room needs more

Deep Cleaning for bathrooms.

This is the one people book when the bathroom has gotten away from them, and there's no shame in it. Life is busy. A deep clean gives the room the time it needs: grout lines worked line by line, soap scum broken down on the glass instead of smeared around, hard water deposits treated on the shower head and faucet, the base and hinges of the toilet cleaned, the caulk line scrubbed, the tile up near the ceiling wiped where steam collects, light fixtures and the exhaust vent cover dusted, and baseboards done by hand.

Deep cleaning is also the smart first visit before starting a recurring plan. Get the room back to zero once, then keep it there with regular visits instead of fighting the same buildup forever. If you're dealing with visible mold that keeps coming back after cleaning, that's a moisture problem and not a cleaning problem, and MedlinePlus has a good plain-English rundown on why. We'll clean what can be cleaned and tell you straight if we think you need your building or a specialist involved. See what a deep cleaning includes.

Quick compare

Choose a service, we handle the rest.

Before the keys change hands

Move In and Move Out Cleaning.

The bathroom is the first room a landlord looks at during a walkthrough. Not the closets, not the ceilings. The bathroom. So on a move-out cleaning we treat it as the make-or-break room: tub and tile scrubbed down, toilet cleaned front, back and base, mirror and medicine cabinet done inside and out, vanity emptied and wiped, chrome polished, floor edges and corners cleaned, and the exhaust vent cover wiped. We can't promise what a landlords inspection will decide, nobody honest can, but we can give them nothing obvious to point at.

Moving in is the flip side. Somebody else showered in that tub for years. Our move-in cleaning happens before your boxes land, so your first shower is in a bathroom that's actually been disinfected, not just emptied. Book move-in and move-out cleaning together and tell us about elevator reservations when you book. Code MOVE30 takes $30 off. Follow the move-out cleaning checklist to see the whole scope.

Recurring cleaning keeping a Sunnyside Queens bathroom fresh
Same team, when possible Weekly · bi-weekly · monthly

The room that rewards routine

Recurring Cleaning plans.

Bathrooms are the single best argument for a recurring plan. Soap scum and mildew are cumulative. Clean the room every week or two and it never gets a chance to bake on. Skip it for three months and you're now paying for a deep clean to undo it. That's the whole math.

We run weekly, bi-weekly and monthly recurring cleaning plans, and recurring visits are priced lower per visit than a one-time booking. You recieve a text before each arrival, and we send the same team whenever the schedule allows, which matters more than people expect. A cleaner who already knows your shower door is finicky and your bath mat goes back a certain way just does a better job.

One-time cleaning in a West Village Manhattan apartment
No commitment Book it once, that's it

One visit, no strings

One Time Cleaning when you need a reset.

Sometimes you just need the apartment handled once. Parents visiting. A party Saturday. A stretch of work that ate three weekends in a row. A one-time cleaning is a single visit with no plan and no commitment, and the bathroom gets the full standard treatment.

The difference between a one-time cleaning and a deep clean confuses a lot of people, so here it is plainly. A one-time cleaning is the standard checklist run once. A deep clean is a longer visit that goes after buildup, inside appliances, and detail work like grout and baseboards. If your bathroom is basically fine and just needs a proper scrub, a one-time visit is right. If you look at the grout and wince, book the deep clean.

Housekeeping Service for busy homes.

Housekeeping service is what a lot of our recurring clients are really asking for. Not a one-off rescue, but steady help keeping the apartment livable while everything else in life keeps moving. Beds made, floors done, kitchen reset, and the bathroom brought back to a clean baseline every visit.

Katherine M. on the Upper East Side put it best when she told us she was juggling two kids, a full-time job and a newborn, and had zero time for housework. That's the exact situation housekeeping exists for. It's not a luxury when a bathroom with a newborn in the house needs to be hygienic and you physically don't have the hour. The fastest way to find out is to call (646) 825-3550 instead of waiting on an email. We'll tell you yes or no within minutes and give you the earliest real window we have. Booking even one day ahead opens up a lot more choices, so if you know Friday is coming, grab Friday now.

Short-term rental turnover cleaning in a Battery Park City Manhattan apartment

Hosts and landlords

AirBnB Cleaning Service and turnovers.

Guests judge a stay by the bathroom. A hair on the tile or a cloudy glass door and you're reading about it in a review three days later. Our short-term rental cleaning runs to a turnover checklist: bathroom sanitized top to bottom, mirror and chrome spotted-free, fresh linens set out if you leave them, supplies restocked from what you provide, and the room left presentation-ready rather than just clean.

We also handle turnover cleaning between tenants and ongoing rental property cleaning for owners managing more than one unit. Give us access details once, whether that's a lockbox, smart-lock code or front desk handoff, and we work around your check-out and check-in times. Review the rental cleaning checklist before your first booking.

Questions and answers

Bathroom questions, answered.

These are the ones we get asked most about bathrooms. Every answer is open by default, nothing hidden behind a click. Want more? Our full FAQ page goes deeper.

Is bathroom cleaning included, or do I pay extra? 01

It's included. Every standard cleaning covers the tub, shower, tile, toilet inside and out, vanity, sink, mirror, fixtures and floor. You only pay extra if you want additional bathroom detail time as an add-on, or if you book a deep cleaning, which spends much longer on grout, caulk lines, glass doors and buildup. See the standard cleaning checklist.

Can you get rid of the black stuff in my grout? 02

Usually a good amount of it, yes. Surface mildew in grout responds well to the right product and real dwell time, which is exactly what a deep clean is for. What we can't promise is grout that's permanently stained or damaged, or mildew that keeps returning because of a moisture or ventilation problem behind the tile. If that's what we see, we'll tell you honestly rather than take your money twice.

Do you bring your own bathroom cleaning supplies? 03

Yes. Our teams arrive with professional products, cloths, brushes and equipment, so you don't need to stock anything. If your bathroom has natural stone, brass, or another finish that needs a specific product, leave yours on the counter with a quick note and we'll use it. Prefer greener products because of kids, pets or asthma? Add that to your booking notes and the team will bring them.

How long does a bathroom take? 04

On a standard visit, a typical one-bath New York apartment bathroom runs roughly 20 to 35 minutes depending on size and condition. On a deep clean it can be an hour or more, because grout, glass and caulk work take time and products need to sit. If your going to be timing us, know that the dwell time is the part that actually does the work, not the scrubbing speed.

Do I need to be home? 05

No. Most clients are at work while we clean. Doorman handoff, lockbox, or a smart-lock code all work fine. Just put access instructions in your booking notes, including anything about elevator rules or the service entrance. We coordinate with front desks so you don't have to. Read preparing for your cleaning for a quick pre-visit rundown.

Can you sanitize after someone in the house was sick? 06

Yes, and the bathroom is where we focus. High-touch surfaces get priority: faucet handles, the toilet flush lever and seat, door handles, light switches and towel bars. Add a note at booking and the team will prioritize disinfection. Standard house cleaning is not medical-grade remediation, and we won't pretend otherwise, but it makes a real difference after a cold or flu runs through a household.

What if the bathroom isn't right when I get home? 07

Tell us within 24 hours and we come back and re-clean that area at no charge. No argument, no invoice. That applies in every borough on every visit. Read the full satisfaction guarantee, or check the cancellation and rescheduling policy if your plans change before the visit.
