A day on the job
Housekeeping and Maid Service.
Most days are standard visits. Kitchens scrubbed, bathrooms sanitized, surfaces dusted, floors vacuumed and mopped, beds made, trash out. You follow the same every-visit checklist each time, which means you're never guessing what the client expects and you're never being asked to invent a scope on the spot.
You'll usually work in a small team, sometimes solo on smaller apartments. Expect two to five homes in a day depending on size and cleaning type. Deep cleans and move-outs take longer and are scheduled with that in mind. Our maid service and apartment cleaning pages show clients the same standard we train you on, so nothing on the job is a surprise to either side.

What we're looking for
Who does well here.
Prior cleaning experience is preferred but not required. We would rather train someone reliable than inherit someone fast and careless. What we do need: legal authorization to work in the United States, willingness to complete a background check, and reliable MTA transit access to jobs across the boroughs.
Beyond that, its mostly about judgment. You'll be comfortable talking with clients and with doormen. You'll notice the thing nobody asked you to clean. You'll tell us when something breaks instead of hoping nobody checks. Deep cleans and move-out cleanings reward people who like detail work, so if that that's your strength, say so when you apply.
Pay, supplies, scheduling
The practical stuff.
Pay is discussed during the interview, and it depends on experience and the kind of work you take on. We'd rather have that conversation properly than post a number that turns out not to fit your situation. Bring your questions to the call, including the ones about hours and how routes are assigned.
You don't buy supplies. We provide the products and equipment for every visit, including EPA Safer Choice certified products for clients who request them. Scheduling is flexible, which genuinely means flexible: tell us the days and windows that work and we build around them where we can. If you want to understand your rights as a worker in this state, the New York State Department of Labor is the place to start, and OSHA covers workplace safety.

A real part of the job is buildings, not just homes. Doorman check-ins, elevator reservations, service entrances, walk-ups with no elevator at all. You'll learn the rhythm quickly. How do I apply for a cleaning job? 01
Email support@lilymaidhousecleaningservices.com or call (646) 825-3550. Include your cleaning experience if you have any, the boroughs you can get to, and your general availability. There's no application portal and no fee, ever. We aim to get back to applicants within a few business days.
Do I need previous cleaning experience? 02
Experience is preferred but it isn't required. We train on our own checklist either way, so somebody reliable and careful can absolutely start here without a professional cleaning background. Tell us honestly where you're at when you apply, it makes the first conversation faster.
What are the requirements? 03
Legal authorization to work in the United States, willingness to complete a background check, and reliable transit access to jobs across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. You should also be comfortable communicating with clients and building staff, since a lot of this job happens at a front desk before it happens in an apartment.
How much does the job pay? 04
Pay is discussed during the interview. It depends on your experience and the type of work you take on, and we'd rather talk it through with you than publish a figure that doesn't match your situation. Ask directly on the call, we won't be vague with you there.
Do I have to buy my own supplies? 05
No. We provide professional supplies and equipment for every visit, including green products when a client requests them. You should not be spending your own money to do this job, and if a supply runs out mid-route, tell us rather than covering it yourself.
Is the schedule flexible? 06
Yes. Tell us the days and time windows that work for you and we build routes around that where we can. Some visits are on a fixed weekly or bi-weekly schedule because clients have a recurring plan, and those tend to be the most predictable work on the calendar.
What happens if a client isn't satisfied? 07
We go back and re-clean the areas in question at no charge to the client, which is the promise on our satisfaction guarantee page. It isn't handled as a punishment. Nobody cleans 1,200 homes without a visit occasionally missing the mark, and we'd rather you flag a problem yourself than have a client find it.
