Daily Cleaning Service New York City Homes Can Actually Keep Up With
A daily cleaning service in New York City isn't about scrubbing grout every morning. Its about the small stuff that piles up fast in 600 square feet - dishes in the sink, crumbs on the counter, the bathroom sink, the floor by the door, the shoes. Lily Maids sets you up with short, frequent visits or a light weekday routine, so your place stays ready without you doing a thing. Insured, background-checked cleaners. Flat upfront pricing. Booking takes about a minute.
A real Lily Maids story
Christopher hadn't seen his own floors in about four months.
Christopher works in finance out in Jackson Heights, Queens. Eighty hour weeks, most of them ending after 10pm. When he called us he told us the the apartment had been "neglected for months on end" - dusty shelves, grimy windows, a kitchen he stopped cooking in because it was easier not to look at it.
We started with one bigger reset visit to pull out the layers of grime he said he hadn't even noticed anymore. Then we set him up on frequent short visits instead of one giant clean every season. His words after: "Coming home to a fresh, immaculate apartment has improved my mood immensely, and it's so much easier to stay on top of the daily cleaning."
That's really the whole idea behind a daily cleaning service. New York City apartments get messy faster than houses anywhere else - less space, more people walking through, windows that open onto a street. When someone touches your place often, the mess never gets a head start. Start with a deep cleaning if it's been a while, then move onto a recurring plan that fits your week.

Let's be honest about it
What "daily" really means here.
Almost nobody in this city wants a cleaner in their apartment 365 days a year. What people usually want is frequent. Short visits, close together, so the place never slides. That's what we set up: light everyday upkeep on the schedule that matches how you live, plus a bigger clean whenever things need a real reset.
Everyday upkeep
- Dishes and sink cleared
- Counters and stovetop wiped
- Bathroom sink and toilet freshened
- Entry floor and high-traffic areas
- Trash out, beds made, quick tidy
Weekly add-in
- Full bathroom scrub
- Vacuum and mop all floors
- Dust all surfaces and shelves
- Mirrors and glass
- Linens changed on request
Reset visits
- Inside oven and fridge
- Baseboards and door frames
- Behind and under furniture
- Radiator and vent dust
- Cabinet interiors

Our services
Everything we clean, every day.
Daily cleaning works best when it's paired with the right base service. Here's what we actually do across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. See pricing or jump straight to booking.
The everyday baseline
Standard Basic Cleaning.
This is the visit most of our daily and near-daily clients build on. Kitchen counters, stovetop, sink, appliance fronts, cabinet doors. Bathroom tub, shower, toilet, vanity, mirror. Dusting through the living room and bedrooms, beds made, floors vacuumed and mopped, trash out.
It's the same list every single time, which is the point. You know what you're getting before we ring the buzzer, and you recieve a text when the team is on the way. If you want the exact task list, we published it here: what a standard cleaning includes.
Most of this city lives in apartments
Apartment Cleaning.
Small spaces are harder to keep clean, not easier. Every surface works overtime and there's nowhere to hide a mess. Our teams are trained for narrow galley kitchens, tiny bathrooms with no counter space, and buildings with strict hallway and elevator rules.
Pre-war building on the Upper East Side? Fifth-floor walk-up in Bushwick? Converted loft in Williamsburg? We do all three most weeks. Doormen, freight elevators, key handoffs, lockboxes - tell us the setup once and it's in your file. More on our apartment cleaning service page.

Someone who knows your place
Maid Service.
A maid service is the closest thing to true daily cleaning that makes sense for most NYC households. Same trained team where we can, same checklist, arriving often enough that nothing builds up. They learn your home - which cabinet the trash bags live in, that the guest bath barely gets used, that the dog sheds on the left side of the couch.
Whether you call it maid service, housekeeping, or "please just make the kitchen stop," it's the same crew and the same standard. Maid service details here.
The lighter option
Housekeeping Service.
Some clients don't need a full clean every visit. They need a housekeeping service - a shorter stop that keeps the kitchen and bath usable, the floors clear, and the laundry from taking over the bedroom chair. Great for families with small kids, people working from home, and anyone in a studio where mess shows up instantly.
Housekeeping visits are usually paired with one longer clean each week or two. That combination is what most of our "daily" clients actually book, and it's normally cheaper than one giant monthly deep clean. Compare options on pricing.
Homes are all we do
Residential Cleaning.
We clean where people live. Apartments, condos, co-ops, brownstone floors, walk-ups, townhouses. In Brooklyn Queens and Manhattan the buildings are wildly different from each other, and that changes how a clean goes - a 1920s co-op with painted-over radiators is nothing like a new glass tower with in-unit laundry.
Residential work also means we care about things a commercial crew wouldn't: dust that sets off allergies, the products used around a crawling baby, whether the cat can be shut in a bedroom. On air quality specifically, the EPA's indoor air quality guidance is a good read for anyone in a sealed-up city apartment.
The reset button
Deep Cleaning.
Every apartment in this city has spots a quick wipe-down never reaches. Inside the oven. Behind the fridge. Baseboards, door frames, light fixtures, cabinet interiors, and the grey radiator dust that shows up every single winter.
A deep clean does alot of catching up at once, which is why we usually recommend it as the first visit before any recurring or daily schedule starts. After that, the frequent visits keep it there. Full task list: what a deep cleaning includes. Seasonal version: spring cleaning.
Just this once
One Time Cleaning.
Not everyone wants a plan. Sometimes you need one clean, right now, for one reason - in-laws landing Friday, a shoot in the apartment, a birthday party that got out of hand. A one-time cleaning is exactly that: single visit, flat price, no schedule attached.
Plenty of our daily clients started as one-time bookings and then said "actually, can you come back next week." No pressure either way. One-time cleaning · after-party cleaning.
Where daily actually lives
Recurring Cleaning.
The homes that always look good aren't cleaned harder. They're cleaned more often. Recurring plans put home care on the calendar before the to-do list eats it, and the more often we come the lighter each visit gets - so your not paying for a rescue clean every time.
Weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or a custom multi-visit-per-week routine if you want something closer to true daily cleaning. Recurring clients also get better rates and first pick of morning slots. See recurring plans.
Before the keys change hands
Move in and Move out Cleaning.
Moving in this city is rough enough without scrubbing an empty apartment at 11pm. Our move-out cleaning follows the checklist landlords actually use at the final walkthrough - inside cabinets, inside the oven and fridge, bathroom fixtures, floors, every corner someone might look at. Nobody wants to loose a deposit over an oven.
Moving in? Book a move-in cleaning before the boxes land so your first night is in a genuinely clean home. Tell us about elevator reservations when you book. Code MOVE30 takes $30 off. If you're checking your rights as a tenant during a move, the city's HPD housing resources are the official place to start.
More ways we clean.
Same-day rescues, rental turnovers, spring resets, and the morning after a party. If it needs cleaning in New York City, odds are we do it.
When timing is everything
Two services that run on the clock.
Today, if we can
Same Day Cleaning Service.
Guests landing tonight? Showing the place tomorrow morning? Same-day cleaning depends entirely on what's open on that day's schedule and where you are, but we get asked for it constantly and we fill a lot of those requests.
Best move: call (646) 825-3550 instead of waiting on a form, and we'll tell you straight away whether a team can reach you. Booking a day or two out always gives you more time options. Same-day cleaning details.
For hosts and landlords
AirBnB Cleaning Service.
Hosting is a turnover business. Guests arrive at 3pm and the last ones left at 11am, thats a tight window and it doesn't move. We run that window: linens swapped, bathroom reset, kitchen wiped down, trash out, supplies restocked from what you leave for us, and a photo sent when it's done if you want one.
Frequent hosts are our closest thing to real daily clients - some units get touched four or five times a week. Short-term rental cleaning · turnover cleaning · rental cleaning checklist.

New babies, surgeries, birthday parties, renovations, pets - here's what New Yorkers say after we leave. Read all reviews >
"With my due date just a week away, I was too exhausted to move, let alone scrub the apartment for the baby. They came in for a 'nesting' clean and went above and beyond, focusing on the nursery and sanitizing the whole space. I feel so much more relaxed knowing everything is sterile and clean, and I'm not worried about the deep stuff while I handle the daily cleaning."
"We were bringing our newborn home from the hospital and wanted the environment to be absolutely perfect. The team did a phenomenal job wiping down every high-touch surface and making the house feel like a safe haven. They took care of all the heavy lifting with the grime so we could just focus on our little one."
"My new roommate was moving in on Saturday, and my half of the apartment still looked like a construction site with boxes everywhere. They handled a massive deep clean, tackling the dusty shelves and sticky floors that I just couldn't get to. Now we have a clean slate to start our daily cleaning schedule together."
"Hosting Thanksgiving for 12 people is stressful enough without worrying if the oven is clean or if the guest bathroom is spotless. They scrubbed the place from top to bottom, even getting the tough grease stains off the stove, and the apartment felt so open and welcoming. It saved me hours of stress."
"We were hosting my daughter's 5th birthday party at home, and the playroom and living room were covered in crayon and mystery stains. The crew did an incredible job getting the carpets and furniture looking new, and the entire house was sparkling clean. The party was a huge success."
"I hosted a bridal shower at my place and was dreading the post-party mess of cake crumbs and sticky floors. The service arrived the next morning and worked magic, leaving my apartment cleaner than it was before the event. I didn't have to lift a finger."
"My mom is elderly and can't get down on her knees to clean the bathtub or mop the floors anymore. This service has been a lifesaver, sending reliable and kind professionals who scrub every inch of her apartment. She feels so much better in her clean environment, and it takes a huge burden off me."
"After my wife's surgery, the last thing either of us wanted to worry about was vacuuming or dusting. They came in and meticulously cleaned the entire apartment, ensuring it was free of dust that could aggravate her recovery. It was a huge relief to come home to a hygienic space."
"I just finished a massive renovation on my kitchen, and the fine dust was absolutely everywhere. The team used their professional equipment to clear out every speck of debris from the counters, cabinets, and floors. It felt like a completely new home again, and they helped me reset my entire daily cleaning approach."

Pricing
Know the price before we knock.
Your price depends on your home size, the cleaning type, how often we come, and any add-ons. You see the full flat rate before you confirm - never after. See full pricing >
A quick note on high-frequency plans: more visits usually means less work per visit, so the per-visit rate drops. The more often we come, the lighter and cheaper each stop gets. Recurring discounts are shown on the pricing page and applied automatically at checkout.

Questions and answers
The details before you book.
These are the questions New Yorkers ask us most about frequent and daily cleaning. Every answer is open by default, so nothing is hidden behind a click. Still curious? Our full FAQ page goes deeper.
Do you really clean every single day? 01
We can come as often as your schedule and our availability allow, including multiple visits per week. Most clients who search for daily cleaning end up on frequent short visits plus one longer clean, because that's what keeps a NYC apartment genuinely tidy without paying for a full clean seven times a week. Tell us your week when you book online and we'll build the schedule around it.
What's included in a short daily visit? 02
Kitchen counters and sink, stovetop, bathroom sink and toilet, trash out, beds made, a quick tidy, and the high-traffic floors. Bigger tasks - full bathroom scrub, all floors mopped, full dusting - get scheduled into the longer visits. The complete room-by-room breakdown lives on our cleaning checklist and standard cleaning pages.
Do you bring cleaning supplies? 03
Yes. Our teams arrive with professional supplies and equipment, so you never have to stock anything. Prefer greener products around kids or pets? Ask in your booking notes and we'll use them. If you swear by one specific product for one specific surface, leave it out with a note. The American Cleaning Institute has solid plain-language info on reading product labels if you're curious.
Do I need to be home? 04
No, and with frequent visits most people aren't. Doorman handoff, lockbox, or a smart-lock code all work fine - add the access details in your booking notes and it stays on file for future visits. We follow the buildings rules on service entrances and elevators so you don't have to explain it every time. See preparing for your cleaning.
Will I get the same cleaner each time? 05
We keep the same team on your home whenever scheduling allows, and it's much easier to do that with a set recurring slot than with random one-off bookings. If your regular cleaner is out sick or on vacation, the replacement team gets your notes and preferences first. More on recurring plans.
Can I skip or move a visit? 06
Yes. Travel, guests, sick kids - life happens, and skipping a visit doesn't cancel your plan or your discount. Give us as much notice as you can and we'll shift it. Full details are in our cancellation and rescheduling policy.
Can you sanitize after someone was sick? 07
Yes. After a cold or flu runs through the household we focus on high-touch surfaces: door handles, switches, faucets, remotes, and bathroom fixtures. Michelle in Bay Ridge booked exactly that after the flu hit her whole family. Add a note at booking and we'll prioritize disinfection on that visit.
What if I'm not happy with a visit? 08
Tell us within 24 hours and we'll come back and re-clean the areas in question at no charge. That applies to every visit, in every borough, whether it's your first clean or your fiftieth. Read the full satisfaction guarantee.

"We have a very fluffy dog and a cat, and the pet hair and dander were taking over our lives. The cleaners did a superb job on the upholstery and carpets, removing all the allergens so our son could play on the floor safely. Now that they've lifted all the deep-seated hair, I can finally keep up with the daily cleaning easily."

Recurring Cleaning · Jackson Heights, Queens"I was moving out of my rental and didn't want to lose my deposit over a dirty oven or scuffed floors. They performed an end-of-lease cleaning that was simply outstanding, even polishing the fixtures until they shone. It was the most thorough clean I've ever seen, and they gave me a great checklist for maintaining the new place with regular daily cleaning."
